Resumo
A proposta deste trabalho é avaliar a influência da geometria e propriedades físicas dos corpos salinos que estão distribuídos ao longo do arcabouço das bacias sedimentares (como Golfo do México e Bacia de Santos) sobre a estrutura térmica, ao longo do tempo, através de ferramentas de modelagem estrutural e termal tridimensional. Nas bacias sedimentares, a maior parte dos corpos salinos que se moveram ao longo do tempo geológico assumiram um importante papel na criação de extensas armadilhas estruturais e de espaços para a deposição de turbiditos, que são considerados excelentes rochas reservatórios. Nestas bacias, a estrutura termal foi modificada devido às propriedades físicas e variações geométricas do sal, o que provocou mudanças nos níveis previstos de maturação em potenciais rochas geradoras de óleo localizadas abaixo e/ou acima dos corpos de sal.
Abstract
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the influence of the geometry and phys ical properties of salt bodies that are distributed along the framework of sedimentary basins, like the Gulf of Mexico and Santos Basin, on the thermal structure through time. These effects were analyzed by structural tools and thermal modeling. In sedimentary basins, most of the salt bodies that moved during geological time assumed an important role in the creation of large structural traps and spaces for the deposition of turbidites, that are considered excellent reservoirs. In these basins, the thermal structure was changed because of the physical properties and geometrical variations of the salt. In addition, the alterations of thermal structure caused changes on the levels of maturity of the potential oil source beds.
