Resumo
Este trabalho apresenta uma análise das características estruturais e radiativas dos sistemas convectivos sobre a América do Sul usando o pacote computacional denominado FORTRACC (“Forecast and Tracking of Active Convective Cells”). Este pacote, foi desenvolvido na Divisão de Sistemas e Satélites Ambientais do INPE. Os dados usados como entrada do FORTRACC, foram obtidos através do satélite GOES- 12 (canal 4) em janeiro e em julho de 2004. A metodologia deste trabalho é baseada no artigo publicado por MACHADO et al. (1998). A comparação entre a saída do FOTRACC e as anomalias de precipitação observada, mostra-se bastante plausível já que há uma boa correlação qualitativa. Além disso, um estudo de caso é apresentado e discutido.
Abstract
This presents work the analysis of the structural characteristics and radiative properties of Convective Systems (CS) in South America, through computational package FORTRACC ("Forecast and Tracking of Active Convective Cells") developed by Division of Systems and Environmental Satellites of the CPTEC/INPE, having as data entry thermal images of canal 4 of the Goes-12 satellite for the months of January and July of 2004. The methodology of this work is based on the paper published for MACHADO et al., (1998). The gotten results way use of the FORTRACC coherent when are compared with the observed results of precipitation anomalies.
